Can I request features that aren't in the standard products?

Yes. Bespoke features are exactly what custom development is for.

But check the cheaper routes first

How to request one

Describe the outcome, not the implementation. "Advertisers need to see X so they can decide Y" gives the team room to propose something better and often simpler than the mechanism you had in mind.
